Try my best to be funny, yeah.
You forget for a while.
Wrote a song for you, honey
You should laugh so you don't cry.

I need someone to make me laugh so I don't cry....especially for the next few weeks.

Christmas is over.  My parents just left for Israel.  I really wanted to go.  And now I'm just a little lonely.

It's Christmas Eve.  As my dad says, The magic begins today.  I love Christmas.  Let the magic begin.

I love Christmas. It's kind of an obsession really. I am in love with this time of year. I think the reason I love it so much is because some part of me still believes in magic. This is the time of the year when anything is possible....at least in my mind. Christmas is magic. I define magic is something wonderful happening that you didn't think was possible. The first Christmas had to be the most magical night in the history of the earth. The world had been waiting, longing for someone to save them. The Israelites had been waiting for centuries for the One that would break their chains of oppression and be their king. They thought that a human king would rise up and fight for their earthly freedom. But God had the most wonderful plan. On a night that seemed pretty ordinary, a teenage girl had a son in a small stable in a little town. It was magic. Who could believe that God Himself had sent His Son to live among us. For the first time, they could see God. They could touch God! They could laugh with Him, cry with Him....follow Him. God had come to us to be with us! But let's get back to the story. The baby was born. And then more magic happened. A new star appeared in the sky, angels were spotted in a field singing the baby's praises, very important people came to see this seemingly ordinary child. This is just the beginning of the magic of the Gospel. This child was Immanuel...GOD WITH US. This was too marvelous for words...that the Lord would look on us and come. To be with us. Even in our sinful, helpless state. To show us that He loved us. The moment that Jesus came, He broke through the darkness of this world and brought us light. He came to us, but really He came to bring us to Himself. Sometimes it is just too good to be true. So maybe that's why I still believe in magic. Even though we can't see it sometimes, God is a God of magic. He takes the ordinary and makes it extrordinary. He takes a hopeless situation and makes it beautiful. He is a God that is a good. He is wonderful. Too wonderful for words and full of love for us that we don't think is possible. Merry Christmas. I hope this season that you can believe in magic again. Faith like a child.
